We had a beautiful 48 hours at the hospital. We were able to spend many hours with our momma, sharing life together. She was able to witness our family grow all the while we watched her slowly say goodbye. When we welcomed Liam into our arms, I never once was nervous or scared that it was all a dream. Everyone kept asking us if we were worried and never once did hesitate to say no.
Liam’s momma was a very brave and selfless young woman who never “gave up” her child, but placed her son into our arms in great love for him. We are honored to not only welcome Liam to our family, but that God has called us to love his momma too. My heart is full of great love and respect for her.
At the end of the 48 hours, we were in the next room when our momma, who loved her son with everything, signed away her parental rights. She was so strong! We shared some sweet words with each other and said goodbye for now. Now our adoption is fully open and we will visit a couple times a year.
We love our story! Our story is our son’s story. So beyond this post, his story will remain his.
As we journey this new adventure of parenthood, I’ll hopefully share our continuing journey with you all. For those who have been praying for us, with ALL our hearts we thank you! For each one of you who have purchased our t-shirts, or donated towards our adoption, you have blessed us! We love each one of you and are so thankful for your piece in our son’s story.
